My first scammer

I just checked my email and found my first scam! I wanted to share with you all the email so that if this happens to you, you will be prepared. It started innocently enough with a contact request simply saying "I would like to order some products." I responded asking how I could help and this is what I got:

california. We will be coming down to your city 20th of next month for

Get back to me with the total cost and sale's tax that I will pay for
the products. Also, with the name and mailing address you want your
payment mailed to so I can instruct the Sponsor to prepare your
payment(You should note that courier service doesn't mail to P.o.box.)
and your phone number so I can reach out to you in case of any
emergency. Please get back to me as soon as possible so I can continue
with the order. I  would instruct the project sponsor to send you the
payment in either money order or certified check which you can cash
instantly at your bank. We would be in your city soon for a photo
shoot so our crew would pick up the items themselves but I only want
you to have the funds in advance  so you can get the ordered product
read. Please send the quotations and details needed to send your
payment asap.

Thank you and stay blessed.
So what tipped me off? First, the person is from another state. Why wouldn't they order from a local rep? There are quite a few Anew products, which would be the most expensive items we sell. This is to entice me with a large sale. He asked me for my mailing address to send a check or money order. This could be used to steal my identity. And finally he will have another party send me the payment.
My response was that I appreciate the order but he'll have to use my website. If this is not acceptable I can help him find a local representative.
Not all emails are going to be this easy to spot, I'm sure. But I feel if I listen to my gut I will know when I'm being scammed. Be careful, guys.
